Chateau Clerc-Milon 5ême Cru Classe Pauillac 1998

In 1970 Baron Philippe de Rothschild bought this medium sized estate, tucked between Mouton and Lafite and said to have first rate soils.The potential of which have never been realised. After much replanting, mostly with Cabernet Sauvignon, the hunch seems to have been proved correct, as Clerc-Milon is now an outstanding Pauillac. Impressively structured and with much elegance and complexity the wines can be drunk relatively young, although they do have the ability to age well.
